What is hystero-foam-salpingogram (HyFoSy) fertility testing?
The HyFoSy fertility test is a relatively new, cutting-edge type of ultrasound-based examination that uses a special gel to look at your uterus and fallopian tubes. The gel is called ExEm foam gel, and it helps the fertility specialist see if your fallopian tubes are blocked.
The test is usually done at our Conceive NJ office. The doctor will insert a small tube into your cervix and then slowly place the ExEm foam gel into your uterus. The gel will then flow through your fallopian tubes. Using ultrasound, we will look at your uterus and fallopian tubes to determine if they are normal or blocked.
The HyFoSy fertility examination is a safe and painless test. It can help your doctor diagnose problems with your fallopian tubes, such as blockages or scarring. This information can help you and your doctor decide if you need other diagnostic testing and determine the most appropriate fertility treatment.
